feed me: rss

I'm struggling with management of my time. I'm constantly trying to shuffle things to see what can help.

Recently, I've installed miniflux to my NAS. Then I tried to move all my content consumption there, and it seems to work.

I believe one of the problems was that I was constantly worried about FOMO and I was constantly checking everything that I can. But with RSS I can finally mentally relax as no more content can slip. And to my surprise now it's easy to skip reading all together.

Another crucial thing that I did was that I move all of my youtube subscriptions also to the miniflux, and removed youtube app from the phone. Now I see when new videos come up but without thumbnails and I can watch videos inside miniflux without temptetion of the youtube sidebar. That's really helped to get me off youtube needle.

One more trick, is to hide as much as possible from the main unread list. Now, when I'm eager to read hacker news, I need to click two more buttons, and it helps me to remember why things are that way, I become aware of what I'm trying to do and stop.
